Suggested new article: Trial and conviction of Fredrik Fasting Torgersen
[edit]Trial and conviction of Fredrik Fasting Torgersen is a subject more notable than the article about the defendant himself.
Text that should be included, might be the translation of "Vi så det som vår plikt å informere, skriftlig, kommisjonen om at den fellende dommen bygget på uholdbare "bevis". (Aftenposten, 2010-12-03,page 5 "Rettssikkerhet og fordommer" by Per Brandtzæg).
("Kommisjonen" refers to Gjenopptakelseskommisjonen, in 2006).

"the defiler of corpses" news headline; "she shouted rape"
[edit]About ten years ago there was one news article that used, I think, the term, [one who defiles one or more corpses ...] (Norwegian: "likskjenderen fra Lille Tøyen"): The journalist wrote that the term had been used before the 1958 trial. Torgersen had illegally entered an institution (or a retirement home?) thru a basement window; however, he had not touched the corpses. The media coverage of the case of the illegal entry, was biased according to the journalist (who wrote the article around ten years ago). Another point is that prior to the 1958 trial, Torgersen was, I believe, convicted for something else; I am not sure if it was a misdemeanor or a felony conviction: His view of the incident was that he had sex with a woman, and then when a third party came within earshot, she shouted "rape" (allegedly motivated by she being a married women ...). --Gazprompt (talk) 17:13, 22 June 2015 (UTC)
Sources in the Norwegian article; translations from Norwegian to English, that need references
[edit]The article in Norwegian has 5 references: 4 of them are to the Criminal Cases Review Commission and another one is not. A case could possibly be made, that none of the references are independent sources.
The following translated text needs independent sources as reference.
- "In 1955 Torgersen was convicted of attempted rape (of "Mrs. K"); he was sentenced to 3 years in prison and 5 years of sikring".
- "The prosecutor in that case was Lauritz Dorenfeldt". --Gazprompt (talk) 18:18, 22 June 2015 (UTC)
