First Spouse?
[edit]"In 1922, Dunn married the former Gordon Woodbury" - would his wife really have been called Gordon? Can someone please fact check. Denis (talk) 18:49, 24 October 2016 (UTC)
- @Dvermeirre: Odd but true. The source I used is the NYT obit: "His first wife, the former Gordon Woodbury, died in 1929." But you can also look at this Princeton Alumni Weekly from 1922: "Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Woodbury of ... have announced the engagement of their daughter, Miss Gordon Woodbury, and Frederick Sherwood Dunn." If this genealogy site is to be believed, her full name was Eliza Gordon Woodbury, and for some reason she went by the middle name. Which was the same name as her father, Gordon Woodbury, who was well-known as the Assistant Secretary of the Navy. You would think she would have stuck with Eliza ...
