I rather fear that Frederick Ponsonby and his elder brother have been mixed up. According to http://www.angloboerwar.com/index.php?option=com_grid&gid=22_uw_0&p=41 it was captain John Ponsonby, born 25 March 1866 that served in the South African War 1899-1902 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.167.108.141 (talk) 06:47, 7 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
