Frank P. O'Brien was a member of the Alabama House of Representatives in the 1890s. He was also Sheriff of Jefferson County, Alabama; Mayor of Birmingham, Alabama; publisher of the Birmingham Age-Herald; and builder of the O'Brien Opera House, which was Birmingham's primary large meeting hall for decades.
