[edit]Current article appears to need editing, categorising, reformatting and referencing but this will take considerable time for a single user. I intend starting to edit and reference this article but I will be unable to complete it by the proposed deletion date. I respectfully request that no deletion of the article occur without further justification. Shaidar cuebiyar 09:00, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
Year of Birth: 1962 or 1952?
[edit]Internet Movie Database (IMDb) at [1] cites y. of b. as 1952, this was included in the main entry (with ref supplied) and the infobox.
User:MichaelBergman on 07:35, 15 August 2007 (UTC) and 07:39, 15 August 2007 (UTC) changed this to 1962 without supplying any evidence. Other age / year changes were made.
The y.of b. of 1962 also provides other inconsistencies with current biography i.e. single "Seventeen Ain't Young" in 1970 (Howson would be 8!), Ferrets 'discovered' in 1977 (possible but unlikely for a 14/15 yo), and The Faraway Land of Magical Frank staged in 1976 after Howson was 21.
User:MichaelBergman is requested to supply verifiable evidence for this assertion (and any others made previously).

Proposed wikifying
[edit]I intend to heavily edit (i.e. delete lots of) the remaining sections of this article (from Subsequent Career sub-heading to end). In my opinion, much of this is repetition of previous material and/or self-serving. If there are no reasonable objections, I intend to do so after seven days of this note.Shaidar cuebiyar 06:50, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Frank Howson.jpg
[edit]Image:Frank Howson.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Autobiography?
[edit]User:MichaelBergman when uploading Image:Website_shots_036.jpg on 00:32, 6 January 2008 stated "I, Frank Howson, own this image of myself as it was a self-portrait." thereby claiming to be Frank Howson! Since User:MichaelBergman has been a major contributor to this article (and an editor to numerous other Biographies of living people associated with Frank Howson) this may present significant problems: Autobiographies tend not to have a Neutral Point of View (NPOV) and contain Conflict of Interest (COI) issues. Since 09:41, 12 August 2007 I have also contributed significantly to this article wikifying it and providing references. I have also edited other articles visited by User:MichaelBergman and so do not feel sufficiently unbiased to resolve issues involved. I request intervention by a suitable Administrator. I suggest also considering contributions by User:124.190.242.6 and User: 124.190.244.2 as possibly by same author. I intend placing this same notice on User talk:MichaelBergman page but believe that User:MichaelBergman may not read this page (numerous notices seem to have gone by without any response).Shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 15:33, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
I am Frank Howson and I object to the notice that is currently heading this article. I believe it is damaging to me. I am not in fact Micheal Bergman and when contacted by him I agreed to let his image of me be used. He then sent my approval through to you on my behalf but is not me. That is where the confusion arose I guess. I have since read the data on my biography and it is all true and correct and not libellous to anyone living or dead. Hence I believe no one has disputed any of so far written facts. Thank you.
- The above unsigned editor removed the first part of my edit: where I explained why I believed MichaelBergman was Frank Howson. I have replaced my previous content and request that it remain for other editors to understand the full context of why I believed MichaelBergman to be Frank Howson.
- The edit above was made by a user called FrankHowson (Talk) and currently has only the one contribution at 23:46, 15 March 2008.
- I suggest FrankHowson contact User:MichaelBergman (talk) to further clarify the situation.
- Regardless of whether MichaelBergman or FrankHowson are in fact Frank Howson or not, I believe the article currently contains far too much non-NPOV and self-promotional material. It reads like Frank's c.v. and not a well balanced wikipedia article. I had previously spent considerable effort to wikify the content and feel too biased to tone down the focus of the article and so have recused myself from editing it significantly.
- Similarly MichaelBergman, FrankHowson or anyone else claiming to be Frank Howson should refrain from contributing to this article (or any article associated with Frank Howson) due to issues described above and in the current Conflict of Interest (COI) notice in the article. If either user wishes to edit such articles they should follow the advice given on wikipedia pages indicated above.
- By the way, I did not place the COI notice within the article although I am happy for it to stay. FrankHowson may try User:Moonriddengirl (talk) for an unbiased assessment on why the notice is in this article.Shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 13:35, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
