Francis M. McDowell was born in Wayne, New York and he returned there to run a vineyard. That area is well known for its vineyards. I doubt if New York city grows many grapes. Anyway, can someone provide a reference for his birthplace being NYC, or should it be changed in this article? I have entered his birthplace as Wayne, NY in that article.
