Province of Delaram

[edit]

Hi FieldMarine. I was curious about the location of Delaram, not having much information about it on wiki, and thus specifically looked it up. I found a reference in the ISAF Mirror, sourced it, and thus changed the province. Unless you have better evidence than a specific WP:V verifiable source, that the province has been changed since April 2007, I'm going to change the province again. If you have such information, add it, AND RETAIN THE PREVIOUS FARAH NOTE!! It is really useful info to have that the district has been repeatedly shuffled between Farah and Nimruz. Thus people are not confused with conflicting references next time! Buckshot06 (talk) 07:18, 22 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Delaram was never officially moved to Farah, but unofficially placed in that province by Government of Afghanistan a few years back for electoral reasons. In June 2009, a letter from the Government of Afghanistan reaffirmed that Delaram was part of Nimruz province. Thanks! FieldMarine (talk) 12:16, 22 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
IMHO, the information about the status of the location of Delaram as stated in this article in its current form is more appropriate for an article about the town itself, not on this article about the FOB. Thanks! FieldMarine (talk) 20:02, 22 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
True. I was aware of that myself as I put the information in. However, for two reasons (1) it clarifies where the FOB is actually located - I found, as you saw, info that it was in at least two different provinces, and without a good map, it's useful to have textual clarification - and (2) we don't have an article on the town itself, I thought the information had an appropriate place in the article until we have a town article.
