Ghost town?
[edit]Even considering the broad mission statement on the WP:WikiProject Ghost towns mission page, Fort Brooke does not fit the criteria, imo. It was a frontier fort that was decommissioned by the US government after 50 years, whereupon the residents of Tampa demolished the structures and redeveloped the land. The only traces left are a few unmarked cannons on the University of Tampa campus and a downtown parking garage bearing the name.
I'll leave it to up ghost town project members to decide if that really warrants inclusion. But it seemed in appropriate to me, so I did the "be bold" thing, you know... Zeng8r (talk) 00:45, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
What about Robert J. Hackley, the dispossession of his land to establish the fort, and the Supreme Court Case? See here FloridaArmy (talk) 04:14, 7 December 2018 (UTC)
