[edit]I just found this page, & was surprised that the controversy surrounding both it & its contributer was not posted to Wikipedia:WikiProject Ancient Egypt. (Just a suggestion in the future.)
As to the content of the article itself, while I find its content rather sketchy & in need of augmenting, I don't see anything wrong with it after a first read. Ancient Egypt despite common assumptions did have contacts with the world beyond from the Old Kingdom on, as shown by finds over eastern Africa, the Middle East, & the eastern Mediterranean. Byblos was an important intermediary for Egypt, for example, & a casual read of Hittite articles in Wikipedia find proof that the first international treaties involved Egypt as a party.
That said, I'm not clear as to the point of this article. Was it written to combat this common misunderstanding, or to advocate some specific POV? In either case, I don't see a clear reason to keep the disputed tag on this article. -- llywrch 19:19, 10 February 2006 (UTC)
