Merge Ford Custom 500
[edit]- The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section. A summary of the conclusions reached follows.
- Majority favors merge. Done. -- P 1 9 9 • TALK 18:13, 12 August 2011 (UTC)
Considering that Custom 500 was basically just an option package on the Custom and there's not much content in either article, how about merging it here? --Sable232 (talk) 00:46, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
- I would agree that the Custom 500 information should be transferred to the Custom page. GTHO (talk) 22:41, 15 January 2010 (UTC)
- Yes-merge. Make Custom 300 and Custom 500 subsections but keep everything on ford custom page. HornColumbia (talk) 03:43, 10 June 2010 (UTC)
- I don't want it merged because people should know the U.S. model and Canadian model have differences (talk) 16:46, 30 May 2011 (UTC) — Preceding Wikipedia:unsigned comment added by Japanesevehicles100 (talk • contribs)
Photos
[edit]I've brought this point up previously with other automobile-related pages, and I will here as well. The photographs used to illustrate this article are inappropriate for this article, in that they are customized models and not factory stock depictions of the original car. I believe that -- although certainly (with sourcing) the article can state the car's appeal to customzers -- any pictures used within this article should depict the original car. Whether that's as a police car or taxicab, or family car, the article's picture should show an accurate depiction of the Ford Custom's use: as a bare-bones, no-frills car used by fleets and budget-conscious customers. Manual Transmissions
[edit]The 65-72 Ford Master Parts Catalog (and brochures) shows that 1972 Ford-"A"-Cars (Fullsize) did NOT have Manual Transmission Option. I am not generally one to just go in and change things on Wiki. If others can show information contrary to what I have found, great, otherwise we should edit all related pages Custom/Custom 500/Galaxie 500/LTD/LTD Brougham to show the 3spd manual ended at the end of 1971.
