Accuracy disputed
[edit]I've got my doubts about this article. Created without references, it seems to have been modelled simply on the Premier League Golden Boot article, (the Barclays Golden Boot).
There appears to be an official Puma Golden Boot award, but according to this that was only inaugurated in 2007, and is calculated using the total goals tally from the League, League Cup and FA Cup, which seems to be confirmed by this which names Cureton as the 2007 winner, with 24 goals (looking at his wiki page, this is 23 from the league, 1 from the FA Cup), while this page only lists his 23 league goals.
So I guess the question is, is there another official Football League Golden Boot award (I haven't looked too hard), or if there isn't, can we justify having this page detailing just the league the top scorers, even if there isn't an official Championship Golden Boot for that? For the record, the league does have a top scorers stats page, here. Even for an article on the official Puma Golden Boot, some might question its notability.
Also, it just has some basic errors if it is to simply be a list of league top scorers, as for example, on the league's stat's page, both Nicky Maynard and Peter Whittingham are the 2009/10 joint top scorers, on 20, while the article currently only lists Whittingham, with 22.
