US status?
[edit]Can anyone confirm the current status of this in the US? Seems like it is available only in Europe. Richiez (talk) 22:29, 15 April 2010 (UTC)
Contraindications
[edit]As a potassium channel opener it is contraindicated with potassium channel blockers, even possibly mild ones such as Tricyclic Antidepressants (such as Amitriptyline) but there is absolutely zero available literature on the subject. I can't find any proper resources to include this in the article but it seems quite relevant. John Holly (talk) 02:49, 14 January 2012 (UTC)
Interesting, just to follow up on John1987's good point, the same applies to berberine which is also a potassium channel blocker. Not only do they counteract each other in terms of their direct effect on ion channels, but they may be contraindicated in terms of effects -flupirtine has been shown to cause depression in a clinically significant proportion of patients treated with it. -Thomas — Preceding unsigned comment added by 113.22.9.246 (talk) 16:18, 9 September 2012 (UTC)
