Why the page move?
[edit]Why was this page moved from Florence Chadwick, which was perfectly fine, to Florence May Chadwick? She wasn't known by her full name, so there seems no rationale for this move. It certainly wasn't discussed. It is now being discussed. -- JackofOz (talk) 11:46, 13 August 2009 (UTC)

Why no photo?
[edit]How come there is no photo of Florence Chadwick?--Splashen (talk) 22:17, 11 November 2010 (UTC)

The result of the move request was: moved. DrKiernan (talk) 15:50, 29 August 2014 (UTC)
Florence May Chadwick → Florence Chadwick – She is universally known as Florence Chadwick and is so named in virtually every reference. This article was originally (2004) named Florence Chadwick. In 2009 the article was moved to Florence May Chadwick without explanation or discussion; a comment on the talk page shows that there were objections, but they came too late since the article was already moved. The middle name is not needed for disambiguation since there is no other Florence Chadwick. Virtually every "what links here" link goes to the redirect page Florence Chadwick, not to this article Florence May Chadwick. I request that the redirect page Florence Chadwick be deleted so that this article can be moved back to that name. MelanieN (talk) 17:17, 21 August 2014 (UTC)
- Support for WP:CONCISENESS & WP:UNDABNESS. ;) DeistCosmos (talk) 21:22, 21 August 2014 (UTC)
- Support primarily per WP:COMMONNAME, but also for WP:UNDABNESS. In this case I don't think concision is a factor. It just happens to be that the more concise choice is also the one most commonly used - but if the longer one was more commonly used we would go with that. Conciseness normally only apples as a tie breaker - when there is no consensus about which of the two choices in question is favored by WP:COMMONNAME and WP:CRITERIA other than conciseness. --В²C ☎ 23:10, 21 August 2014 (UTC)
