Split in future
[edit]This article needs attention of a botanist. And will need to be split when it grows. It is currently quite uninformative. I have added a few links from here and there for more popular plants that had articles on Wikipedia, but do not expect to take it too far. Help is most welcome. Shyamal 05:29, 16 November 2006 (UTC)

I don't think it needs a split. Considering the quantity and diversity of Indian flora, we are not even half way through in completing it here. I suggest additions be made to this very page. bandishhh 15:00, 22 June 2007 (UTC)
List or Article
[edit]As far as I know, this shouldn't be a list. A list would be appropriately titled list of plants of India etc which again is too broad to be of any value, see WP:SALAT. Most of the other country articles seem to be an article too. I propose rearranging the structure to encourage expansion. Ugog Nizdast (talk) 14:59, 27 April 2016 (UTC)
- A prose article would be more useful than a list, but this was structured as a list. I've removed the essentially useless list of plant families (which also included a very small number of species). There's not enough left to justify rating this as anything better than stub class.
