The article contains factual errors - LCD monitors do produce flicker, because they use PWM controlled backlight to implement dimming. The effect is more pronounced on modern LED backlit LCD, because LEDs react faster to changes in current. Many users have reported eye strain, nausea, headaches and other problems.
