removal of Promotional Content

[edit]

Wikipedia doesn't do brochures, which is what this article had become, an extension of the hotel marketing campaign. I have attempted to bring it back inline with policy. I also note that the history that remains is a little fuzzy. The problem is that the whole thing was basically unsourced, including "the Handbook" which couldn't be made to say what our article previously said it said.

I will be happy to discuss. -Roxy the dog™ bark 12:49, 12 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

It is a shame that nobody wants to discuss, but content that has been re-added to this page is horribly promotional, and unencyclopaedic, and completely outside wikipedia's advertising policies. It'll have to go. Please could editors adding this content tell us why they think it appropriate here? Thanks. -Roxy the dog™ bark 15:51, 14 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
The user concerned has been advised of our COI policy - twice now. They're on a hiding to nothing if they think that repeatedly adding promotional content will get them anywhere. It would be delightful to hear from them here. --Tagishsimon (talk) 16:21, 14 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

They also seem to have removed the fact that the hotel back of them, in Clarge's St. was a hangout for Nazi sympathisers in the late 1930's, and watched by MI5. I don't see why; they had no connection other than a door in the connecting wall between the two hotels for the convenience of each others' guests.

They later bought the place, and its front door is now a discreet back entrance to Fleming's. Worth a mention? 86.157.200.248 (talk) 09:50, 11 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The same IP has continued to do this as of March 2023. I've warned the IP and requested page protection. Just Another Cringy Username (talk) 05:46, 17 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
