Plastic soda bottles expand somewhat due to the dissociation of CO2, and pre-pressurizing the bottle at least eliminates the required volume of CO2 dissociation to change the volume and internal pressure of the bottle... the numbers are complicated to determine the exact gain from using a pump but it's non-zero, contrary to the "research". Even with a rigid glass bottle the extra pressure increases the partial pressure of CO2 in the bottom before any dissociation and through to the system achieving equilibrium. 2605:59C8:27C:F10:7573:E0ED:DB89:7ED (talk) 03:25, 21 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
