Who doesn't love FNAF? Bear with me here as this is my first review. I will try and list anything I see up front in this first comment and then hopefully do some bold edits myself for copyedits and things of that nature.

Comments

[edit]
  • In terms of it being a video game series, I'd like there to be a little more continuity between the articles. It's good that Sister Location is linked, but I wonder if in the reviews of the game there were comparisons to FNAF 3 that were drawn. At the very least I'd like readers to be able to navigate both directions, but if you disagree or have a better idea I don't think it's a big issue.
    • From what I can remember, the reviews only really made comparisons to FNAF 3 in the quality of the mobile ports.
  • "Unlike previous installments, which took place in abandoned restaurants, the player is placed into the role of a young child alone in his bedroom, tasked with surviving a night that lasts from midnight to 6:00 a.m...." on a second reading this makes sense, but it kind of elides the change over previous games (the setting) with what is the same (midnight to 6am gimmick). Maybe a sentence or two about what is typical for the FNAF series is appropriate.
    • Done.
  • "With no other means of delaying the advancement of the animatronics, [flashlight needed etc]", this sentence reads backwards to me. Would read better as "The player must rely on their flashlight to ward off..." etc.
    • Rewrote this bit.
  • "The player will be jumpscared", isn't jumpscare a noun typically? Seems this form is in the FNAF 3 article anyway though.
    • Unless I'm missing something, saying that something (or someone, rather) got "jumpscared" is really the only correct way to word that.
  • "the player is able to play a minigame that puts the player in a game of red light, green light mini-game" Two variations of minigame within one sentence, "minigame that puts the player in a game of [...] minigame" (I may take a crack at working on this sentence myself, just flagging it here) I rewrote this one myself, feel free to do it yourself as well

Stuff I've checked off already

[edit]
  • Image usage: Looks good, detailed fair use rationale
  • Stable: Yes
  • Neutral: I think the review section is especially fair and flags a number of outlets. The sentence in the lead about the reception of the game is also a good sentence. No problems here.
  • Coverage: My measuring stick here is the FNAF 3 GA, and this seems perfect in comparison. The compactness and info density make for good reading. I can imagine someone pulling this up off of Google and learning a bit about the game quickly.
  • I'll dig into sourcing momentarily, but don't really expect there to be any blockers for this article. Reviewed the sources, I'm happy with these.
Thank you for taking your time to review this article, and I'm honored for it to be your first GAN review! I believe all above comments have been addressed, besides the ones you took a crack at yourself. NegativeMP1 00:01, 30 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
