[edit]I don't have a copy of the film or novel handy, but I'm fairly certain that the Corleone Family is NOT one of the "Five Families" in The Godfather. In fact, both film and novel contain several references to actions or reactions of the Five Families to the Corleones' moves. MJFiorello 20:29, 16 April 2007 (UTC)
Exactly. For example, Tom Hagen says to Sonny: “...All the Five Families would come after you, Sonny. The Corleone Family would be outcasts! Even the old man's political protection would run for cover! So do me a favor -- take this into consideration.”. As a novel, it is also quite reasonable that Corleone Family is not one of the Five Families, as its story is not based on the story of any of them. Thus Puzzo avoids any controversial comparison. --WikiDCM (talk) 17:52, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
What is the difference between this and the Five Families on General Hospital? You know, Claudia Zacchara, Sonny Corinthos, and others? moi (talk) 00:27, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
Godfather series box
[edit]While the link to the Godfather series is obvious, should this article really have the full series link box at the bottom? This article isn't about the fictional prtrayals and pretty much everything in the box is irrelevant. I'm inclined to remove it. Leushenko (talk) 17:24, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
- Removed it, since nobody seems to object, or care, on the grounds that the Godfather is not the subject of the article, nor connected to it in a direct way. Leushenko (talk) 04:09, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
Outdated.
[edit]Nicholas Corozzo is the current Gambino boss. Also, Gigante is retired.17:34, 29 January 2008 (UTC)~
Families By Area?
[edit]I really don't know much about the Mafia and even less about New York but it would be great if someone could add a section about what territory each family is thought to be responsible for and if they share particular places such as territorial "border" areas. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.9.194.62 (talk) 10:33, 16 July 2010 (UTC)
This page or this criminal activity be cannot referred to as "families" when there is not a blood relationship involved. Also, This page is based mostly off of a movie so it needs to be deleted. — Preceding unsigned comment added by FactsOnlyRule (talk • contribs) 10:27, 17 May 2015 (UTC)
This article sucks. Please improve it.

Please improve what you want to do and maybe the editers may fix this edit. Granted I could be talking to a brick wall as this is a old post.Comics1996 (talk) 00:46, 12 March 2016 (UTC)comics1996

Domenico Cefalú Boss?
[edit]So I’m a little confused about the Gambino family’s status with the old Boss Domenico “Italian Dom” Cefalú being listed as current Boss but he also has an acting boss? If Dom isn’t incarcerated then why does he have an acting boss? Klacket (talk) 15:00, 14 August 2019 (UTC)
- He is not listed as an acting boss neither here or at the Gambino family page, so I'm not sure where you're seeing that. Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 15:53, 14 August 2019 (UTC)
Page Layout.
[edit]What happened to this page? So much detail and information is gone. Including the current bosses of the families. Klacket (talk) 21:45, 26 January 2020 (UTC)
Never mind lol I must have missed it Klacket (talk) 21:54, 26 January 2020 (UTC)
Is Domenico Cefalù current boss?
[edit]According to Lorenzo Mannino reportedly becomes new boss of Gambino crime family from 2019, Domenico Cefalù is no longer the current boss.
The problem I am having is, I cannot find quality additional sources for the claim.
Can anyone find some supporting citations from a cite other than mafia sites?
Jeffrey Walton (talk) 08:41, 14 July 2021 (UTC)
- Mannino is supposedly the acting boss. Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 13:29, 14 July 2021 (UTC)

Little Italy
[edit]Redirect to Little Italy, Manhattan, pick a restaurant, sit down and eat your spaghetti and shut up.
Come on, I smell a rat with this whole article. Five major crime families controlling all of New York City, and even the entire states of New York and New Jersey, and they're all Italian and not Jewish. Got any white crime bosses living in NYC by any chance, or they all snot-rag-sniffing gun-grabbing minorities? justinacolmena (talk) 13:21, 27 October 2022 (UTC)
Current Colombo Boss?
[edit]From what I understand Theodore Persico Jr. is filling the leadership void in the Colombo family since Andrew Russo’s death. Does anyone have any reliable sources to confirm this? Klacket (talk) 13:12, 31 October 2022 (UTC)
