one takeoff and landing?

[edit]

My first solo was three takeoffs and landings. I'm not sure where the idea that it's one comes from. ericg 02:00, 16 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Mine was One Take-off and landing. Most of them (in the UK at least) are only ever one... in fact you appear to be in the minority there. Well done anyway! 89.243.109.66 (talk) 22:47, 27 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

My first solo (WV, USA) was 3 landings--2 touch 'n goes and 1 full stop. This procedure is typical of all the flight schools around my area. Rssnkgp02 (talk) 17:18, 22 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Most CFIs I know (myself included) generally fly with the student for 3 unassisted circuits, then exit the plane and have the student perform 3 (full-stop) circuits solo. While certainly not a mandated standard, this seems to be the de facto practice by the majority of CFIs, at least in the US. CaptainChrisD (talk) 15:47, 9 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Came here to read about the whole cutting the shirt thing. My husband did his first Solo this weekend and it was takeoff and landings as well. He had to do them 4 times I think.--BeckiGreen (talk) 17:55, 14 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
