Good article nomination on hold
[edit]This article's Good Article promotion has been put on hold. During review, some issues were discovered that can be resolved without a major re-write. This is how the article, as of July 20, 2009, compares against the six good article criteria:
- 1. Well written?: I would suggest at least one other editor previously uninvolved with the article (and preferably previously uninvolved with Stargate mythos) look over the article and do some minor copyediting/proofreading for readability to those not familiar with Stargate and the episode.
- Hopefully have that sorted out tomorrow. -- Matthew R Dunn (talk) 00:50, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
- 2. Factually accurate?: Duly cited throughout.
- 3. Broad in coverage?: Good. I like the subsection breakdown in the Production subsection. However, I would recommend expanding the Reception subsection with a bit more from print media sources, if reviews in such exist.
- Unfortunately, I can't find much on print media sources, as I don't currently own any which involves First Strike, but I have found another internet source or two to expand on the reception section, but doubtful it could be expended more. -- Matthew R Dunn (talk) 00:50, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
- 4. Neutral point of view?: Neutrally presented with matter of fact wording throughout, no issues here.
- 5. Article stability? No issues upon inspection of article and talk page edit history.
- 6. Images?:
- File:First Strike SGA S3E20.jpg = fair use, image page is good.
- File:Stargate Atlantis script.jpg = free use, image located at Wikimedia Commons, checks out okay.
- File:Jewel Statie @ the Serenity Flanvention.jpg = free use, image located at Wikimedia Commons, checks out okay.
- File:Joeflanigan.jpg = free use, image located at Wikimedia Commons, checks out okay - but could use standardization with commons:Template:Information.
- Done, I hope. -- Matthew R Dunn (talk) 00:50, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
Please address these matters soon and then leave a note here showing how they have been resolved. After 48 hours the article should be reviewed again. If these issues are not addressed within 7 days, the article may be failed without further notice. Thank you for your work so far. Cirt (talk) 02:10, 20 July 2009 (UTC)

Any updates on points 1 and 3, from above? Cirt (talk) 16:01, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
- I updated 3 a little, but I cannot find anything else on the matter. On 1 however, I'm afraid only I could copy-edit it; Stargate is generally an ignored franchise for its longevity. Long story short, matters 1 and 3 are (hopefully) addressed. -- Matthew R Dunn (talk) 16:48, 4 August 2009 (UTC)
- Are the concerns adressed Cirt? Wizardman 14:23, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
- I am going to see if I can do some research for additional coverage regarding Reception, in secondary sources. Cirt (talk) 01:34, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
