- In fact Smt.Champakam Dorairajan had not even applied for admission to any of the medical colleges in the State. Niether did the state raise such an objection before the Madras High Court. The Madras High Court allowed her petition and even the Hon'ble Supreme Court. The judgment delivered by the seven judges bench happens to be the basis for the introduction of Sub-clause (4) to Art 15 of the Constitution that was inserted by the first amendment. Additions to the list of reasonable restrictions on the Freedom of speech and expression was also a ground for the First amendment.

Some Changes
[edit]In Equality section, there were 2 sub-section (Background and Debate). I made both these as separate section as they have nothing particular to do with Equality. Background section represent all the events which led to this Amendment and Debate section would include Parliamentary Debates. I am adding more historical events which led to First Amendment in Background section. I might add some text in Debate section too after reading historic Parliamentary Debates.Dshrm (talk) 04:08, 24 February 2022 (UTC)
- Edit : I have reverted both Background and Debate in Equality section. Instead created a new section Background to write historic events which led to First Amendment. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dshrm (talk • contribs) 04:58, 24 February 2022 (UTC)
