RE: Proposed deletion of the article

[edit]
  • Oppose - I do not agree that this article should be deleted, it is well written and all information is referenced. It also serves a purpose, explaining the broader use of firearm as a blunt weapon, differing between pistol whipping and butt stroking. • In Favor - While there are commonalities to butt stroking and pistol whipping, it's hard to see it as its own topic. I do love that this page introduced me to the verb "butt stroking", which I intend to use often from now on. If the page is kept around, I suggest creating another page on "firearms as projectile weapons" where we can discuss the trope in old films of the bad guys, when their guns are empty, throwing them at the good guy. • Support deletion - Makes as much sense as having articles on "rolling pin as a blunt weapon" and "fish as a blunt weapon". (Hohum @) 05:46, 9 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support deletion - No reliable sourcing, just OR of incidents. Fountains of Bryn Mawr (talk) 22:10, 16 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
