Twitch and YouTube channels finished
[edit]I happen to know that he's given up on his Twitch and YouTube channels now. We might have a paradox here that there is no reliable source in the public domain that says this. We might be cursed to keep an article about a channel that's finished ever more. Epa101 (talk) 23:04, 8 December 2024 (UTC)
- There is this episode of his podcast where he outlines the channel's end, I think that's the closest we have to a reliable source. It seems to pass WP:PRIMARY. Issan Sumisu (talk) 23:10, 8 December 2024 (UTC)
- @Issan Sumisu Well found. I didn't know about that. Yes, that's a good enough source in this case. Epa101 (talk) 21:56, 9 December 2024 (UTC)
End of Punk Rock MBA in lede
[edit]I'd like to remove the following sentence from the lede: "He stopped releasing videos in 2024, saying he had met his financial goals and that he never had an interest in music to begin with." I think noting that he previously ran The Punk Rock MBA, as it's currently stated, is enough for the introduction of the article. Noting the community anger surrounding his apparent lack of interest in the scene should be (and is!) noted in it's own section. On a personal level, it sucks to know that he didn't/doesn't care about what consists of a majority of his career, especially after watching his content. Does anyone have an objection to this? 30Four (talk) 22:47, 23 December 2024 (UTC)
- I find this pretty notable tbh and would be in favor of retaining the info in the lead --FMSky (talk) 06:04, 24 December 2024 (UTC)
- If it is going to be included, I think it should be reworded. Currently with
He stopped releasing videos in 2024, saying he had met his financial goals and that he never had an interest in music to begin with
, it implies that his official statement upon leaving YouTube was that "he had met his financial goals and that he never had an interest in music to begin with". However, that is not true, he announced that he was leaving YouTube in April, while the statement about financial goals was not until December, in an interview, not an official statement. Considering that, I don't know how relevant it even is for inclusion in the lead; just because it received controversy, does not make it a key part of the biography.
