Genre
[edit]I'm not so sure about naming conventions, but doesn't "Victorian" usually refer to novels written during that specific time period? The plot of the novel certainly takes place during the Victorian period and both the styles and conventions used in the novel are of a Victorian origin, but the novel itself is definitely playing around with and reinterpreting these in a very modern way. As such, I've edited the main description from "Victorian crime fiction" to "Victorian-inspired crime fiction." Even then, I don't think this is really accurate.
I also add "Gothic fiction" to the list of genres in the sidebar. This novel leans very heavily on the traditions and elements of that genre.
