Final Destination 5
someone please move this page to "final destination 5" and not "final destination 5 (film" —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mrules4ever (talk • contribs)
- Thanks for bringing this up. I have asked an admin here. Mike Allen 00:11, 19 September 2010 (UTC)

- Question or not, it sure the hell isn't "vandalism". They were all valid concerns, so stop treating everything you see or don't understand as "vandalism". Perhaps read this. Mike Allen 03:08, 19 September 2010 (UTC)\
- Well it was the closest thing to vandalism, and the farthest from a question. Thanks. CloudKade11 (talk) 03:22, 19 September 2010 (UTC)

Can we please change whom to who in the sentence "The screenplay was written by Eric Heisserer, whom New Line Cinema hopes will break the repetition of the series." under Development. Since Eric Heisserer is the subject of the relative clause that who introduces (who will break the repetition) and New Line cinema is merely the subject of the additional clause "New Line Cinema hopes" (that Eric Heisserer will break the repetition). Tried to change it a couple of times, but it keeps being reverted.
Also I suggested "Even though the title suggested The Final Destination to be the last in the series" as a solution to the vague "was though to be (by whom)". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.67.64.166 (talk) 10:51, 1 June 2011 (UTC)
Can somebody move the information about this movie being the prequel of the first film, to somewhere else, it's a huge spoiler. Sorry about my english, not my first languaje. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 190.37.231.250 (talk) 16:26, 30 August 2011 (UTC)
Plot
I noticed the plot had been huffed due to excessive vandalism by IPs. Am I the only one who thinks we should've kept the plot summary, but semi-protected the entire page until the film was actually released? Because a semi-protection should be enough to keep them anon vandals out. --Ryanasaurus007 (talk) 02:35, 8 June 2011 (UTC)
- No not really because there was never a valid citation provided to give attribution to the content. Can you provide an official plot summary from a reliable source and then re write it in your own words?—Mike Allen 03:20, 8 June 2011 (UTC)
- I'll have to look into it. If I get around to it and it turns out to be a valid source, IP tampering can be prevented by a semi-protection, I don't care how many sources I have to go through. --Ryanasaurus007 (talk) 14:07, 8 June 2011 (UTC)
Meghan Ory in Final Destination 5
is it Meghan Ory in the movie because i looked at Final Destination 5 Facebook, IMDB and Final Destination wiki there is no Morgan Wells in there..so i was just wondering... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 112.198.79.223 (talk) 14:13, 1 July 2011 (UTC)
- No, Ory was dropped from the film and replaced with Wood. CloudKade11 (talk) 05:20, 2 July 2011 (UTC)
Maghan and Jacqueline
I think she would have been in the movie with Jacqueline MacIness Wood and as also one of the survivors she was great in true justice and besides i like them both they kinda look similar to me :)

Poster
To whoever changed that disgusting "objects flying into skull" poster to a tamer poster featuring a skull formation on the collapsing bridge: Thanks! (Of course, I know the real reason why you did it: because the current poster is licensed, whereas the previous one wasn't. I'm glad that's the case.) --Ryanasaurus007 (talk) 18:49, 12 July 2011 (UTC)
- You're disturbed over a picture of fake objects flying into a fake skull? God I hope you don't plan on seeing the film. —Mike Allen 23:21, 25 July 2011 (UTC)
- Actually, that's the only thing I'm disturbed about. I'll still see the movie proper; it is a 3-D film, after all. None of the deaths disturb me (except for the more graphic ones and the eye-gouging in FD2--I'll still see FD5 despite the fact that an eye-gouging is clearly shown in the trailers). It was just the poster that was shocking to me (though Bludworth was admittedly creepy in the first two films, but less so in FD5 now that he's jumped up from funeral director to coroner if the trailer is any indicator). --Ryanasaurus007 (talk) 18:28, 28 July 2011 (UTC)
I think this should be the cast in order
1. Nicholas D'Agosto 2. Emma Bell 3. Miles Fisher 4. Arlen Escarpeta 5. Jecqueline MacIness Wood 6. David Koechner 7. Ellen Wroe 8. P.J. Byrne 9. Courtney B. Vance 10. Tony Todd — Preceding unsigned comment added by 112.198.79.222 (talk) 11:56, 30 July 2011 (UTC)

- Wikipedia editors can only add information that is confirmed in reliable-source web and print publications. Until the movie comes out, the only thing we can put in the plot section is information that comes from such a source, to which we can footnote a citation. If you have such a source and can properly cite it, anyone is free to edit Wikipedia. Just follow the policies and guidelines. You can find an overview at WP:5P. --Tenebrae (talk) 15:14, 11 August 2011 (UTC)

sam sliced in half?
I haven't seen the movie, but there is a paragraph that talks about the character Sam being sliced in half, coming to and then rushing his friends to safety. would be kind of hard i think, if you're sliced in half, to accomplish all this and be a main player. needs editing i think — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.241.143.194 (talk) 04:28, 13 August 2011 (UTC)

The film tells the story of a group of friends, who, after surviving a bus accident, have death follow them - and die - one-by-one.
The story opens up with co-workers gathering together for a company retreat. Sam Lawton and his best friend, Peter, are awaiting everyone else's arrival. Soon, Molly Harper, Sam's girlfriend arrives. Then Peter's girlfriend, Candice - an intern, and gymnast - comes along with rival Olivia Castle. Molly is hit on by Isaac Palmer, a co-worker and womanizer. Sam then goes to the construction wing of the building to find his other friend, Nathan Gregory, a supervisor who has a hard time dealing with construction worker, Roy.
Nathan and Sam regroup and head on the bus to their destination. As the bus heads up on the bridge, Sam notices the roads construction is faulty, and he begins to have unsettling feelings.
The bus is stopped by a traffic operator, and then the bridge starts to crack. Sam watches as each of the co-workers dies, excluding Molly, who reaches safety. Sam then comes to, realizing that the incident has yet to occur. He and Molly leave the bus, and Peter, Candice, Olivia, Nathan, Isaac, and Dennis follow. The bridge collapses and Sam rushes all of his friends to safety.
During the company funeral, William Bludworth, a local coroner is present and he warns the group that Death is after them. They all ignore his warnings and move on with their lives. Sam and Molly reconcile later that night.
The next day, Candice is with Peter at her gymnastics practice. While she does work on the balance beam, a nail from a malfunctioning fan falls on the beam, nail side up. Candice then goes to do some vault work, and while she is flipping, another girl on the beam does a routine and she falls on the nail, causing her to knock over a pit full of powder. The powder is blown into the area and Candice loses her sight, and she flips, accidentally letting go, causing her to fall and split her bones and spine open.
The next day, Isaac goes through the dead co-workers desks and comes across a flyer for a Chinese massage parlor. He goes there, and is forced into acupuncture by a woman disgusted with his attitude. After the procedure, as Isaac rolls over on his bed, the leg of it caves in sending him on the ground, pushing the needles into his body. He staggeringly gets up, but a bottle of alcohol causes a fire from a candle falling. Isaac avoids the fire, but as he leans against the wall, a shelved Buddha, falls and crushes his head.
Bludworth, who has been present for all of the deaths so far, tells the remaining survivors that there is another way to avoid Death. They would have to kill someone to gain their remaining days on Earth. Meanwhile Agent Jim Block is covering the case of Sam and his friends, but he finds all of the deaths hard to believe.
Olivia goes to get eye surgery, and the doctor straps her head into place. Olivia, holds a teddy bear for comfort, and as the doctor put in tools to keep her eyes open, she rips off an eye from the bear. The doctor leaves the room for a moment, and the machine malfunctions, overheating, and accidentally hits the laser's 'on' button, as she reaches for it in panic.
The laser severely burns her eye and hand, but she manages to escape. As Sam, Molly and the doctor run in to her, Olivia trips on the teddy bears eye, and falls through the window onto a parked car. She falls off and, her eye rolls away - only to be run over by a car.
Later, Nathan is working in construction and talking to Roy. Nathan sees a beam moving closer to him with a hook under it. He urges Roy to move, but accidentally pushes him backward, which results in Roy being impaled through the head. As the group comes together, Peter learns that Nathan accidentally killed Roy, taking his days, skipping him in Death's design.
Meanwhile as Dennis grills them all, a wrench that Roy placed on a machine, is twisted into Dennis's face. Later that night, Sam's mentor allows him to become an apprentice in Paris, along with letting Sam have the restaurant for the night to spend it with Molly. Peter crashes the dinner, and tells how he tried to push a woman in front of a truck to steal her life, but couldn't go through with it. Peter realizes that while he can't take the life of someone who doesn't deserve to die, he can take the life of someone who deserves to live, referencing an earlier conversation about Molly. Peter then attempts to kill Molly, with Sam stopping him.
Molly then takes refuge in the kitchen. Sam fights off Peter, before Agent Block is shot by Peter, taking his years. The struggle leads to a gun being placed on the burning stove, but as Peter is about to kill Molly, Sam stabs him in the back with a skewer. Sam then realizes he stole Agent Block's life from Peter.
A month later, Sam and Molly are boarding a plane to Paris. As they are boarding, a group of high schoolers get into a fight, as a student heading to paris is kicked off with several other students and a teacher. Sam reads his ticket, revealing the flight to be "Flight 180". During take-off, Sam overhears a student who claims to had a vision that the plane was going to explode. The prediction comes true as the jet engine bursts into flames. Molly is sucked out the side, and cut in half by the wing. The rest of plane catches fire, burning Sam to death. As the plane goes down in flames, a flame engulfed engine falls several feet below.
Meanwhile, Nathan is at a local bar, mourning Roy's death. There he meets an factory employee who reveals that Roy was meant to die days after his actual death involving the hook, due to an illness he was unaware of. Nathan worries, as the guy walks away claiming, "Life is a bitch" before the flaming engine from Flight 180 crashes through the bar and crushes Nathan to death, as his remains fly towards the screen.

Devon Sawa, Kerr Smith, Kristen Cloke and Amanda Detmer?
Does anyone else think these four should be listed as cameos for this installment? Or at least mentioned somewhere in the article. CloudKade11 (talk) 21:01, 15 August 2011 (UTC)
- These aren't cameos, but rather stock footage from the first film. What you're suggesting would be akin to listing all of the characters who's deaths are replayed during the ending montage. -- TRTX T / C 21:27, 15 August 2011 (UTC)
Candace's Death?
Candace didn't die just because she let go, otherwise she'd just be injured. The powder is what caused her death. It's chalk powder to prevent people from slipping. Note how Candace used it on her hands in the movie before doing her training. The power got on her body and when she fell the chalk power prevented her from slipping, the force causing her bones and spine to split open. Anybody mind fixing this part? --CheeseLuvas (talk) 13:33, 13 August 2011 (UTC)
- I've removed the details of the death as they're unneccesary to those only wishing to see a summary of events. Who the characters are, who lives, and who doesn't are all that's neccesary. How is irrelevant unless there's an important plot point involved (Ex: them being on Flight 180) or the overall theme of people dying in bizarre/unlikely accidents. -- TRTX T / C 21:30, 15 August 2011 (UTC)

A small detail that confused me until I clicked the link. At the of the synopsis, it should mention that one part of the twist ending is that the movie is discovered to be a prequel, as Sam and Molly have boarded the plane that exploded in the first film.

Score (Soundtrack) section
This line - "The soundtrack to Final Destination 5 was released physically on the 16th of August in 2011, four days after the release of the film. The soundtrack contains 19 tracks composed by Brian Tyler, music composer of The Final Destination. It is also the second Final Destination soundtrack album to be released."
Is this true? I was under the impression that Shirley Walker's score for Final Destination was available some years ago, which if so, would make it the first with Tyler's two scores (to The Final Destination and this film) the second and third to be released. --99.186.110.193 (talk) 05:01, 24 August 2011 (UTC)
Prequel in lead
I wanted to bring this issue to the talk page because it's been edited a few times recently. Should we be mentioning the prequel issue in the lead? Normally we would and we have WP:SPOILER as a guideline and all. Personally, I don't really care either way. I guess I lean slightly towards leaving it, but whatever. But I thought we should address it on the talk page to form a consensus so that we have a record of it for future edits, either way. I see that the issue has been brought up but not really discussed. I'm going to drop a note for comment at WT:FILM, too since this is kind of a special case (can't think of any similar film situations). Millahnna (talk) 00:25, 1 September 2011 (UTC)
- I prefer to include spoilers if it is absolutely pertinent to the discussion. For example, at Fight Club (film), I chose not to explain the twist, but obviously it's explained in the plot summary and touched upon elsewhere. Judging from the state of this article and especially how the reviews don't appear to discuss the prequel nature, I don't think we have to mention it so upfront. We can keep it in the plot summary and mention it in the article body where it's particularly applicable (like if there was ever a "Writing" subsection). Erik (talk | contribs) 00:58, 1 September 2011 (UTC)
- I don't see how the chronology is at all relevant, especially in the lead, unless it is of special importance. I wouldn't mention that Saw 4 takes place before and after and during another Saw film in the lead and it makes no sense here, it is of no relevance to the article, seems to just be an attempt to add fan-information ala fictional chronology OR it's just someone trying to spoil it for others. Either way it doesn't belong in the lead. Darkwarriorblake (talk) 01:06, 1 September 2011 (UTC)
- Normally, we would mention a film as a being a sequel or prequel in the lead. That seems to be fairly standard since we generally mention previous films in the lead, particularly in light of removing the film succession fields from the infobox. So I think it's a common enough practice that it is the reason why someone wants to include it here. But in this specific case, it does seem like erring on the side of WP:SPOILER is very frustrating for people and I totally understand why. Millahnna (talk) 01:35, 1 September 2011 (UTC)
- My understanding is that it is a sequel to Final Destination, and that is it. It's not really a prequel, its not telling the story of characters we already knew or expanding a story we didn't know. It's just, in the final moments, a twist ending. We can't really go back to whatever film that twist refers to and label it a sequel to this one. It's not like Fight Club where the twist is an essential part of the entire plot, this is just a shock twist that only matters to those who've seen the other film but is still understandable without it.Darkwarriorblake (talk) 01:52, 1 September 2011 (UTC)

- That works for me. Like I said, not really invested either way and it's obvious that if left how it was, it was going to keep getting changed. So I figured it would be better to have a record of some kind of consensus on the talk page. If we don't get any other replies in the next couple of days, I'll readd the sentence but change the term to "sequel". I'm wondering if we won't need an editorial note then, though: someone is bound to come along and change it for being technically not the right term or whatever. Maybe just refer to it as the 5th film in the franchise since there's a franchise page we can link to? Millahnna (talk) 01:58, 1 September 2011 (UTC)
- The nearest example I can think of is Fast Five. It technically takes place before Tokyo Drift but only because Han is alive. It requires no references to that film at all and is not designed as a prequel to Tokyo Drift in order to expand that story or explain origins. They just basically wanted that character back. Darkwarriorblake (talk) 02:00, 1 September 2011 (UTC)

And I just realized we already have a link to the franchise article in the lead so the whole shebang is really unnecessary to begin with. The prequel line was in the franchise summary in a way that was both redundant and potentially annoying to readers so I pulled it there, too. Good call on the F&F franchise being similar. I've been wracking my brain trying to come up with a similar situation in a film series. Millahnna (talk) 02:03, 1 September 2011 (UTC)
- To me it is clear that spoilers should never be in the lead. No exceptions. I learned quickly not to read the plot section of films I hadn't yet seen. In the unlikely event people conclude they have to avoid the lead paragraph as well then WP will lose a lot of readers, and deservedly so. Gothicfilm (talk) 04:58, 6 September 2011 (UTC)

they don't have a surnames only the others have, Craig Perry announce that Dennis and Nathan doesn't have a surnames what so ever so stop putting those ridiculous surnames that we didn't know if they are real so stop it or else :\
