- Also, commentators often say, "That's not the first time Pippo will be offside," implying his inability to time his runs towards the goal. - wrong. He always plays on the line of the offside, obviously he gets more offside-calling than other players and often gets wrong offside calling.
- Indeed, on the day of Milan's 2nd leg quarter-final match against Lyon on April 4, 2006, a match which featured two typically sneaky strikes by the 32-year-old Inzaghi, nearly all of the articles preceding and following the match made note of Inzaghi's status as one of football's premier scorers of opportunistic goals, with the forward being called variously a "master poacher" and an "arch-predator" by sports writers covering the match. - well citing only the late match against OL is riductive, remember match against Ajax on quarter-finals two years ago (I think), match against Lecce this year... there are billions of examples, maybe citing two or three would be better. When time is over 80', the goal is near to come...
- The article is riddled with snide comments mentioning "offside" and saying he "can't play".. but when it comes down to it, Pippo Inzaghi is a World Cup champion, a European Cup champion, a multiple time Serie A winner... and in the top 10 ever scorers in the Italian national side...
- His record speaks for itself and all the snide comments in the world isn't gonna change that. - Deathrocker 05:41, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
Bitter Englishmen with grotesque status anxiety ridicule Pippo while they exonerate cheats like Joe Cole. Pippo Inzaghi is far and away better and more successful than Gary Lineker ever was. --202.47.49.162 05:28, 2 May 2007 (UTC)
- The main article definitely needs a mention of Inzaghi being referred to as a "master poacher" in the media. EVERY time I watch a CL game with him the commentary (usually sky sports) will always refer to him as a poacher.
The part in the trivia about Stam...didn't Stam end up playing iwth both Inzaghi brothers, at Lazio and then at Milan?
- This article has been cleaned up to eliminate any mention of (somewhat) unfavorable quotes about FI, or his nickname, "Super Pippo." The quotes are by Johann Cruyff and Alex Ferguson, and are extremely verifiable. Though I very much like Inzaghi, some partisans or perhaps people close to Inzaghi have scrubbed the article, and made it PR purrfect. I'm about to restore the odd information and balance to the article. And I keep periodic watch over my edits, which include removing PR fluff fr/ a decent number of other articles. Cheers. girlfriend
[edit]I read that he is engaged with an model named Eugenia Doretskaya, who was already on the FHM cover. Does anyone know if its true? Because if it is someone could write it down.
International Goals
[edit]How can Pippo's goal against "World Stars" count as an international goal?
There is no way he even received a full international cap for playing in that game!

"In Popular culture"
[edit]This is an encyclopedia. How could it be relevant for this article if Filippo Inzaghi is mentioned in a movie that even had no theatrical release and was "a disappointment to most fans of the previous two films" (see Goal! 3: Taking on the World)? Most people wont even know that this movie exists. So this is not relevant. --Jaellee (talk) 16:15, 31 August 2009 (UTC)
All time best European Cups scorer
[edit]Updated that he is the all time best scorer as of september 21 2009. His position is threatened only by Raul and Van Nistelroy, but as of now he is number one with 68 goals: Raul has 65 and is in second place.
Best Avarage
[edit]I think that Pippo is the most succesfull striker in history, if you compare scored goals and minutes play. It's something about 1 goal for less then 90 minutes of playing. If someone have information about this, please enter it here. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.200.65.19 (talk) 22:26, 28 June 2010 (UTC)
