I'll review this. Mike Christie (talk - contribs - library) 16:22, 18 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I'll copyedit as I go through; please revert if I make a mess of anything.

  • There are two deadlinks; they don't have to be fixed for GA, but here they are in case you want to find alternatives: [1], [2].
  • The first paragraph of the body is unsourced. There is another unsourced sentence in the "Early career" section, and another in the "Italy (1841-1846)" section.
  • The details of the Conti family and Filippo's son's later marriage seem rather peripheral for this article; they could probably be cut, since the connection postdates Coletti, or at least trimmed.
  • Can we get a link or translation for "Segretario comunale"? Similarly for "marchese".
  • I think the article uses quotes excessively. The quote from the Ingoldsby Legends is very tempting, and perhaps should stay, long though it is, but the long critical quotes from Regli, Carlyle, Pacini, and Musical World, along with the quotes from The Spectator and from Chorley, and a couple of other short quotes, could all be paraphrased, with perhaps some short excerpts used. Articles are supposed to use quotes for illustration, not as primary content.

The text other than the quotes is in good shape, and I think if the quotes can be reworked into text the article will pass GA without too much trouble. Mike Christie (talk - contribs - library) 17:08, 18 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Nicoderno1, are you planning to work on this article? I will fail it in another week if I don't hear from you. Mike Christie (talk - contribs - library) 12:08, 26 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Failing GA as there has been no response. Mike Christie (talk - contribs - library) 12:37, 5 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the good and constructive suggestions. Sorry it has taken so long to follow up. Rather than paraphrasing I decided to use footnotes, since it is near-impossible to paraphrase without some interpretation.Nicoderno1 (talk) 21:58, 27 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. I have a couple of other obligations at the moment, but if you let me know when you're ready for me to take another look, I can review and then if you want to nominate for GA again I can pick it up. Mike Christie (talk - contribs - library) 22:09, 27 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I am done with this entry finally, barring some new sources appearance or original research, I feel it is finished. I would be most thankful if you could take another look.Nicoderno1 (talk) 07:50, 29 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
