ordering

Is there any particular reason the first four schools/songs listed here are not in alphabetical order, as the remainder of the list are? MrItty 12:35, 6 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Having received no explanation, I've corrected the order and put all the schools in alphabetical order, following the format of the majority of the list. MrItty 14:56, 9 Dec 2004 (UTC)

I've organized the list in what seems to me to be the most logical order — alphabetical by school. Most people will probably consult the list looking for a specific school's fight song, not a fight song by title, so this makes the most sense to me. I've also Wikified school links, and fight song links where applicable. Seeing as it was so brief, information on NFL songs has been moved to the introductory paragraph.

This will make a great list entry some day, but in order for that to happen, we need to get a) an entry for each individual song and b) much more information on fight songs in general to add to this entry, so I don't see that happening any time soon. Beginning 05:36, Dec 19, 2004 (UTC)

I have removed the split tag. The last thing an article in this state needs is splitting. If in the process of cleaning up this article you need to create sub articles then I am sure it would be ok to be bold. Op47 (talk) 19:11, 5 October 2012 (UTC)

University of Michigan's fight song (the Victors)

I personally think that this should be added to the list of greatest fight songs of all time, due in part to the John Philip Sousa quote. PLEASE DO NOTE however my bias. (Look at the name) WolverineZac 01:50, 18 May 2007 (UTC)

Technically, Auburn's fight song is War Eagle. That's the one that's used for the pregame introduction and for touchdowns. Here's the link:

re: University of Georgia

Hail to Georgia is the official fight song. Glory is more of a spirit song. In recent years, the directors have tried to take emphasis off of Glory and put more emphasis on Hail.--Txredcoat 15:41, 10 Jan 2005 (UTC)

No problem removing Glory in that case. I believe a lot of the listings here contain spirit songs and not just fight songs, but I don't personally know about about each school to know which are accurate and which aren't. Seriously, should this really be in the article? It has nothing to do with a fight song, and it is definitly not a fight song. This doesn't belong in the article. -- S-man

University of New Hampshire

I'm not sure New Hampshire Hymn's status, as it is a school song, but the fight song of the University of New Hampshire is "On To Victory".

-Looked in to it, it appears that even though "On To Victory" is used by the University at it's sporting events as it's fight song (and has been for many years, and even is referenced to as such by the band director), the status was never officially changed and "New Hampshire Hymn" is still the "official" fight song (even though it is never played, EVER).
