Remove Original research

[edit]

Most of this is fancruft or original research.. I refactorted the first para into the intro to this article. If anyone thinks this is useful, please rework and cite sources.

I've found some official books written for the OAV, including the Iczer-One Mediamix Special, Section One. I discovered, plesantly, that some sections of the book are written in english--though much of it is in Japanese. The english sections contain a lot of material that refutes claims made in the article, and as I make changes I'll edit in the new research and move a lot of the original article to the discussion section. I hate to get rid of anything without saving it somewhere. -Grimcleaver

Iczer One Abilities

[edit]

Iczer One has a number of special abilities she can use. Note that this list is derived from observations, and is in no way to be considered her "official" power list.

  • Teleportation: Iczer One can transport herself from one place to another, apparently by transforming into energy. She can take someone with her by embracing them.
  • Energy Projection: She has the ability to fire bursts of energy from her hands (may only be the right hand).
  • Invisibility: She has been shown to appear suddenly (or reveal her presence) after performing an act of rescue (usually Nagisa).
  • Levitation: She has been shown to float, and also to slow down the fall of others.
  • Dimensional Shifting: Some battles take place in an eerie shadow-dimension which Cthulhu (and Iczer One) and travel and bring others.
  • Beam Saber: Other than her energy blasts, Iczer One's main weapon is a beam saber-like device, used primarily as a slashing weapon, but with sustained insertion can kill large opponents such as Nagisa's possessed house.
  • Iczer Robo: Iczer One can call upon the Iczer Robo, which appears amid a storm of blue lightning. This robot is controlled by Iczer One, but powered by the emotions of her partner, who floats nude in a clear fluid that she is somehow able to breathe.
  • Time Travel: In the end, Iczer One reset the Earth to a time before the Cthulhu invasion, thereby reviving people who were killed with no memory of the events.

Original Story Section

[edit]

The homeworld of the Cutowolf[1] was destroyed, leaving the survivors wandering the universe in their base ship. They have searched for a new home to call their own, and to protect themselves, they created the gynoid (female "robot") Iczer One. Unfortunately, before Iczer One was activated, the Cutowolf were taken over by Big Gold. The Cutowolf leader, Sir Violet, jetissoned the gynoid before she was effected by Big Gold. Iczer One arrives on Earth, and must stop her creators from destroying it.

Cthuwulf/Cthulhu

[edit]

The homeworld of the Cthulhu was destroyed, leaving the survivors wandering the universe in their base ship, which was kind of a sphere with what appear to be sections of lunar surface in front and behind, kept in place with a tractor beam. They have searched unremittingly for a new home to call their own, and Unfortunately, before Iczer One was activated, the Cthulhu were taken over by Big Gold, and Iczer One was ejected. The Cthulhu leader, Sir Violet, was placed under Big Gold's mental control, and through her, Big Gold controlled the Cthulhu.

Technology

[edit]

Cthulhu technology is advanced compared to Earth's. Here are some of their advancements:

  • Intergalactic space travel
  • Mecha or giant robots
  • Beam Sabers
  • Androids
  • The ability to turn humans into monstrous crustaceans
  • The ability to travel to, and bring others to, an alternate dimension for combat purposes.
  • Time Travel

Species Peculiarities

[edit]

The Cthulhu race consists entirely of females, although their leader speaks with a masculine voice. Therefore, all love within their species is by its very nature sapphic, but apparently procreation does somehow take place, because the species still exists. One possible explanation of how they reproduce is through a cloning process of some sort, or use of an artificial womb, much as the Abh do in Crest of the Stars.

[edit]

The link from Cthuhlu leads to the works of the H. P. Lovecraft Mythos. While there is likely some inspiration of one from the other, I am in favor of removing the link since it would be more confusing than helpful to many readers. -Grimcleaver —Preceding unsigned comment added by Grimcleaver (talkcontribs) 10:18, 8 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Some Interpretation In Story Section?

[edit]

The section about Iczer 1 having been created by the Cthuwulf as a defense mechanism, while it could be inferred from the ending montage of the film, doesn't ever seem to be explicitly stated. I'd be tempted to rewrite the summary in a more interpretation-neutral form and paste the original version here, but there's so many notes out there in Japanese that I can't be sure this isn't the actual canon explaination. If this comes from a source outside the original OAV then it'd best be cited. If there is something from the original film that I just missed somewhere, well that's possible too, in which case--oops. -Grimcleaver —Preceding comment was added at 10:29, 8 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
