So why is it named Fifteenmile?

[edit]

I don't have Oregon Geographic Names at hand, and assume the creek is not in there, else the info would already be here. I'm also guessing the name has something to do with Celilo Falls, or some aspect of The Dalles rapids, akin to "Ten Mile Rapids" and the like. Any ideas? Curious minds want to know. Oh, nevermind, it is in Oregon Geographic Names. Adding info now. Pfly (talk) 06:31, 24 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The reason it is called that, is because when travelling along some road or other, the creek is crossed 15 miles from a town or the end of the road. There are a lot of creeks with names like this. It is not related to the length of the creek.Eregli bob (talk) 11:26, 24 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I really need to buy a copy of Oregon Geographic Names, thanks Pfly. LittleMountain5 22:26, 24 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Spoken version

[edit]

I am currently recording a spoken version of the article. I believe there are some minor grammar errors, so I may also work on correcting those. For now, I will just read it exactly as-is. This is my first attempt at doing a spoken article, so any feedback is welcomed. 0101Abc (talk) 03:56, 9 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
