Just to remind contributors that naming conventions say we use the most common English form of a name, including English conventions about family/given name order. DJ Clayworth 17:45, 27 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your help. I am new to this, therefore it will take some time to absorb all the rules. Always appreciate any assistance. Galloper 16:31, 28 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I am a member of the Joachim family -

I am not sure who has written the Wikipedia entry for Ferenc Joachim, but he is my Grandfathers brother. My father is Emil Joachim and his father is József Joachim. My father came to England in 1956 and we would like to trace family members. We are very keen to see the informatiion that you have cut from the article and indeed the photos of the Joachim family, as we do not have any photos. I would really apprechiate it if the author could contact me on emilyjoachim@hotmail.co.uk. My father is also an artist. How did you attain the family photographs? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.150.88.118 (talk) 22:15, 16 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

big deletions

[edit]

Hello there, I'm rather new to this, so I hope I'm doing it right. Up until now my edits have been mostly minor grammatical fixes and so forth. I've just done sort of a major overhaul on this article, cutting gigantic swaths of material I found pointless or redundant. This includes removing many photos of Joachim's extended family - I just couldn't see the point of this being, like, dude's personal family photo album.

If any of these edits are inappropriate, please let me know. I've left the footnotes section as is, because frankly I don't know what to do about it.

Infobox

[edit]

Regarding the infobox request at [1], I see Fuhghettaboutit has changed to using {{Infobox Artist}} here. See that link for the documentation. And see Wikipedia:List of infoboxes for many but not all infoboxes ({{Infobox Artist}} appears to be missing there). There is no infobox specific to painters. Thank you both for your help. I rejected Infobox Artist after a trial because it actively suppressed too much relevant data. From a quick look (i.e. Turner) it seems Infobox Person is also acceptable. I'll be working on this article for several days yet in case anything new crops up.
