Why

[edit]

Why is one of the first things you read in this article (the second para) a long-winded poorly written rambling criticism of how some people get the terminlogy mixed up (superficial, etc) when talking about the femoral vein?

Surely the first section should contain a far more detailed and strictly NPOV description of the femoral vein (there is so much missed out as it stands). Then maybe we can have a second section, called something like 'Major issues' (ok that's a rubbish suggestion, but I hope you get the idea) which can contain all the controversial, contended, (and down right barmy!), etc issues related to the femoral vein. This could include the 'superficial' debate, the fact that one can die very quickly if one's femoral is severed in a sporting accident (say), that many IV drug users dangerously inject into their femoral veins - that sort of thing.

good

By everyone's guest. You sound perfectly knowledgeable on the subject. More importantly (to me :P), does anyone know the various names for the femoral artery/veins? I've been to referred to the femoralis, but I'm unsure what exactly that would be. I came here for englightenment. 148.177.129.213 09:42, 19 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
