Update needed

[edit]

This article is inconsistent with the a table in a separate article about Female genital mutilation laws by country. That table says that the ritual initiation ceremonies of female genital mutilation to initiate women into secret societies has been outlawed since 2019, even though there is no law that prohibits the practice of female genital mutilation itself. The article needs an update and perhaps a section about legislation and judicial attitudes to the practice and its consistency with other laws in the country. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 06:39, 8 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
