"Artemiz"

[edit]

I have never seen a citation for this spelling of Artemis's name, nor have I ever seen it used in the comics I've read featuring her. Can someone figure out where this spelling is coming from? Proserpine (talk) 22:44, 12 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The actual appearances of the character starting with Suicide Squad v1 #4 (Oct 1989). - J Greb (talk) 22:53, 12 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Here are some panel examples I found on the net that spell it Artemis, both from "Supergirl" and from "Mister Miracle":

Can you give me a citation for Artemiz? The character has appeared in 12 issues, and while I've not read them all the ones I -have- read (two issues each of "Suicide Squad" and "Mister Miracle") spell it Artemis. That's a full third of her total appearances, at least, plus the issue of Supergirl with the panel excerpted above. Proserpine (talk) 08:14, 26 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
In her first appearance, Suicide Squad #35, she's called Artemiz. Subsequent appearances have her called Artemis. I'm pretty sure she's called Artemiz on this to differentiate herself from the several other Artemis characters from DC Comics. Nyssie (talk) 19:18, 27 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
