[edit]The order of events described seems arbitrary. I'm going to rework them into chrono order. --Christofurio (talk) 15:07, 25 February 2012 (UTC)
The paragraph on CDOs did not reflect Salmon's actual position and arguments at the time, and seemed to imply that because he used a Bear Stearns hedge fund as an example he was proven incorrect when that company went bankrupt or that he predicted that they wouldn't. Also added a paragraph about his views on reform. I also used a different reference for the CDO paragraph, as the original reference was a reply to another's bloggers response to his original post, which states his position much more clearly and comprehensively. Is this guy really notable?
[edit]Bazuz (talk) 19:45, 4 August 2012 (UTC)
- Well, why then almost all citations are to his own columns? I presume he is sorta widely known in narrow circles, but that's not enough, is it? 08:09, 5 August 2012 (UTC)
- I hadn't quite thought about the possibility that he's not widely known. But look for example at a search in Google books [1], bunch of publications here [2]; he's won some kinds of awards. Anyway, how famous do columnists get? He's one of the most widely read financial writers in the world as far as I'm aware. Seems notable enough? TheSoundAndTheFury (talk) 14:36, 5 August 2012 (UTC)

LGBT?
[edit]Has anybody actually got a citation for this? He talks about his wife on twitter a lot... Blythwood (talk) 02:52, 13 December 2014 (UTC)
- I was wondering the same thing. He's mentioned his wife on the Slate Money podcast as well. Here's a tweet in which he mentions his wife [3]. —Moxfyre (ǝɹʎℲxoɯ | contrib) 05:02, 27 December 2015 (UTC)
