Can't find a list of the English voice cast anywhere. How annoying. Zekiw (talk) 00:15, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
I have searched high and low for the English voice cast, and can't find ANYTHING about it. It's like no one who was in it wants anyone to KNOW they were in it. Zekiw (talk) 17:25, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
Any PROOF that Cary Elwes is Francis? I haven't seen this information anywhere, save a video review of the movie on youtube, which I don't really think counts. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.127.52.74 (talk) 22:21, 13 June 2008 (UTC) Nerr, that was me. Anyway, I've e-mailed Trickompany Animation to see if they could tell me who the English voice cast is, so hopefully that will work. Zekiw (talk) 17:32, 17 June 2008 (UTC)
Edited the page to include one vital information that had been curiously left out: the fact that Felidae was released on Laserdisc in English. I currently have said Laserdisc, still in good shape as if it was bought yesterday; the cover was shrink-wrapped when my parents bought it in Singapore somewhere in 1995. The shrink-wrap was used as a dust jacket. According to the video certificate rated "B" by the Board of Film Censors Singapore, the name of the shop in which it was bought is Top TOp Video PL, dated 27.09.95, serial number 16480210. The cover is mostly black, with the Felidae logo at the centre. The header says "The bestselling novel is now..." followed by the logo "Felidae the movie", and below that "A thriller about cats... and murder!" with the directorial information below.
At the back of the Laserdisc are pictures of FRANCIS, BLUEBEARD, PASCAL, JESAJA and KONG. The synopsis is as follows:
"Francis is no ordinary cat and his vision of the human world is often cynical but not without a sense of humour. When FRANCIS is obliged to follow his master's move to a new neighborhood he does not relish the idea of a new territory and the enemies which this always entails. Furthermore, his new neighborhood feels rather sinister and one night he hears agonizing cries of a cat in pain. With resolve FRANCIS decides to explore what is going on and comes across a streetwise cat named BLUEBEARD who shows more than a few battle scars. To their horror they discover a mutilated feline corpse- a murder so grisly no mere human could be responsible. Soon FRANCIS finds himself engulfed in anxious nightmares of scientists and ancient cats and through BLUEBEARD he discovers that his dreams are more like prophesies. FRANCIS realizes that he must remain one step ahead of the murderer, be it human or feline, and so he embarks on the task of solving the mystery of these cat-slashings before he, too, becoems a victim. Through computer archives, FRANCIS and BLUEBEARD uncover the startling record of hundreds of experiments which no doubt ended in tragic cat deaths. The search continues despite the hostile KONG who rules the neighborhood with his two idiotic henchcats HERMAN and HERMAN. But FRANCIS is getting closer and closer to solving the mindboggling diabolical scheme which must be stopped at all cost."
a logo showing Bluebeard's face in a circle with the words "THE END" is placed below the synopsis.
I would have to dig out my old laserdisc player and look at the credits for the english cast. I'll snap a photo of the laserdisc as proof soon. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sidneykwchan TX2 (talk • contribs) 16:06, 26 October 2008 (UTC)
It would be awesome if the laserdisc had the English cast, but since the VHS doesn't, and no place on the internet seems to, I wouldn't expect it to. I even went to Trickompany's website several months ago and e-mailed them, asking if they knew the cast list, but never got a response. I imagine a bunch of popular voice actors being taken hostage. "Okay, we'll record the lines for your crazy cat slasher porn, but only if you NEVER TELL ANYONE WE DID IT." Zekiw (talk) 00:40, 7 December 2008 (UTC)
There are plenty of rumors floating around the Internet, including IMDB, as to who comprised the English-language voice cast. The difficulty is compounded by the fact that very few people associated with the movie have ever given an interview about it. However, based on this interview on Reddit (http://interviewly.com/i/cary-elwes-oct-2014-reddit), I think we can possibly eliminate Cary Elwes as a cast member. When asked directly about "Felidae", he says, "No, I don't believe I was involved in that. It might be my doppelganger." So he either wasn't involved, doesn't remember being involved, or is discreetly distancing himself from any involvement in it. Moloch dhalgren (talk) 19:10, 18 June 2016 (UTC)
This article does not meet the project's B-Class criteria at this time. The main issue is a lack of content; "Release and Reception" is quite short and does not cover reception; "Production" is just two sentences; "Differences from the Novel" is unsourced and looks like original research. Beyond that its just plot, cast and characters. The article will need more to advance from Start-Class. PC78 (talk) 19:28, 5 February 2009 (UTC)
Dubious
[edit]I just tagged the claim that the role of Deep Purple was played by Michael Habeck. My rationale is as follows: Deep Purple appears dead throughout the entire film. The claim is incredible. I mean this isn't Carl French's latest film we're talking about. -Thibbs (talk) 01:08, 9 September 2010 (UTC)
Success
[edit]The article says nothing about critical reception or how it did at the box office. Why? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Theworldisbig (talk • contribs) 14:37, 14 July 2012 (UTC)
IMDB and Wikia
[edit]Someone keeps using IMDB and Wikia as reliable sources when they're not at all. — FilmandTVFan28 (talk) 08:55, 7 May 2017 (UTC)
English Dub on YouTube
[edit]I have no idea if anyone did, but should we include the link to the English Dub on YouTube? It might be useful for people to use who don’t wish to look it up themselves. And I don’t see much of a point of saying it’s on YouTube and not including a link. Many other Wiki-Pages on Wikipedia that talk about videos and movies and such include a link to the video they are talking about. Šüīçįdåł Śøñgbìrd (talk) 00:45, 27 April 2018 (UTC)
