Talk:Fazal-ur-Rehman (politician)

Page contents not supported in other languages.
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Several mistakes in this article. (1) Fazlur-Rahman is a possessive name; if you want to abbreviate it, the abbreviation is Fazal and not Rehman. (2) Fazlur-Rahman was one of several politicians of the Jamiat-Ulama factions (others included his rivals and occasional critics, Samiul-Haq, Abdul-Ghani, and Ismatullah Khan) who supported the Taliban movement, but in the early 2010s they famously cut links with him because of his secret negotiations with the United States. Thirdly, "kafir-i azam" does not mean "Kafir of the Nation", it means "Greatest Kafir". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2607:FEA8:529C:F00:F83F:4855:6F0A:944E (talk) 04:09, 18 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

The edit request is in reference to citation number 2 (an article by Express Tribune News). This citation is used for describing him as an "Islamic Fundamentalsit". However, the article/source makes no reference at all of his religious view or status for him to be called an "Islamic Fundamentalist". Based on the Islamic Fundamentalist categorization according to Wikipedia, he needs to be defined as a revivalist of the founding scriptures of Islam. The edit request is to eiither: (1) Update the citation to a source that can describe him as an "Islamic Fundamentalist" instead of a random news article or (2) Remove the citation of the news article and the words "Islamic Fundamentalist". It is alleged that when he was a minister in Benazir Bhutto’s government between 1993 to 1996 as minister of petroleum he took advantage of his position and smuggled diesel to Afghanistan. He is supposed to have made a lot of money by doing this. He sold the diesel at high prices and pocketed the money and brought a diesel crisis in Pakistan.

This is Wrong

a pro-Bangladesh supporter who was against the creation of Pakistan and was one of many who called the founder of Pakistan "Kafir-e-Azam"[1] which literally translates to "Kafir of the nation" Ibraheemch333 (talk) 11:16, 19 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. Sorry, don't see (Diesel) used anywhere in conjunction with this subject. And usage of multiple apostrophes in a page title, as in '''Diesel''', is not allowed by the software. P.I. Ellsworth , ed. put'r there 12:09, 24 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Diesel

[edit]

Dear respected creator of the page, without verification of the word diesel adding to Maulana's Wikipedia is totally wrong, because he is one of the most popular leader on the land of Pakistan and it's not only the insult of him but it is the insult of Islam and all maulana's. In addition, it's making hate between civilians and religious scholars. So, please remove it or verify it into the full details we are unable to add something on conspiracy theories here Pirsaab000 (talk) 10:24, 6 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Add a Source?

[edit]

The following statement is unsourced and should either be removed entirely, or have a source added. "In November 2023, it was reported by spokesman of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) that he is on a tour to help the people of Gaza Strip amid 2023 Israel–Hamas war. It was also reported that he met Ismail Haniyeh the leader of Hamas." I have found a few sources though: https://www.dawn.com/news/1786683 23.122.128.208 (talk) 05:05, 8 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
