NPOV dispute
[edit]I'm not sure who posted the information below under 'Bias is very evident' (it was unsigned), but it seems to be contested whether the Mr al-Ghamdi is actually a preacher. The article as it currently stands states only that he appeared on television once. None of the references seem to say anything about his alleged preaching career, so this may indeed be a case of misreporting. Ronald Collinson (talk) 08:50, 8 September 2015 (UTC)
Bias is very evident
Fayhan al-Ghamdi wasn't a preacher, a scholar, or even a student of religion. He was a reformed drug-addict who was brought onto some television shows to share his story of reform. The story was featured on Saudi television--show on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=NaoOuWtehgI (Arabic) Likewise, this website describes the story in detail: http://callingchristians.com/2013/02/05/the-truth-about-saudi-preacher-fayhan-al-ghamdi/
TV show
[edit]Given that his television history is likely at least partially responsible for this man's notability it would be ideal if we could give more information about this like the name of the show and the years it ran. Do any reliable sources give this? Original Arabic and thenna translation of the title would be ideal. Ranze (talk) 09:45, 23 September 2016 (UTC)
Sheikh or not
[edit]I have read him called "Sheikh Fayhan al-Ghamdi" on the web but I do not know whether or not he was one. Is this sometimes a name in addition to a title or always a title? Ranze (talk) 09:52, 23 September 2016 (UTC)
