Barrie Jones

[edit]

Reference 1 The Independent article says Barrie Jones 6 second goal was for Newport, this is incorrect Jones was playing for Notts County see other references. --palmiped |  Talk  11:48, 23 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Ian Bogie

Hagi

[edit]

He scored from the kick off for Barcelona, surely faster than players who took over 10 seconds?

Gundogan

[edit]

Today gundogan scored in fa cup final. 14 seconds. https://www.usnews.com/news/sports/articles/2023-06-03/man-citys-gundogan-scores-inside-14-seconds-for-quickest-goal-in-an-fa-cup-final#:~:text=June%203%2C%202023%2C%20at%2010%3A10%20a.m.&text=LONDON%20(AP)%20%E2%80%94%20Ilkay%20Gundogan,inside%2014%20seconds%20on%20Saturday. 2603:8080:1E08:97B0:240E:656D:90D5:3BC4 (talk) 14:49, 3 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Jairo Henríquez

[edit]

Salvadoran footballer Jairo Henríquez scored the fastest CONCACAF worldcup classification goal in history in just 12 second. Here is an article about it: https://espndeportes.espn.com/futbol/el-salvador/nota/_/id/9531194/el-salvador-record-concacaf-gol-rapido-eliminatoria-mundialista JorgeCanizales2110 (talk) 23:19, 16 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Fastest goal by opposing team

[edit]

I've added a goal scored after 5 seconds by the *opposing* team, i.e. that team that did not have the ball at kickoff. I presume that all the other goals in the list were scored by the team posessing the ball at kickoff. We should add a table with fastest goals by opposing teams - or at least a marker for the existing table. Ds77 (talk) 03:34, 4 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of Podolski after Baumgartner record?

[edit]

Why is Podolskis former record not kept and just downranked after Baumgartner took the record on 23.03.2024? CatzHoek (talk) 04:00, 24 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

People probably did the same research I did - there are wildly varying reports on it. Youtube has a clip that shows around 9 seconds from kickoff. Verification is rough, so the evidence needs to reexamined so that goal can be put in the right spot.
Essentially, Podolski's goal shouldn't have been there in the first place and only got fact-checked because of the new fastest international goal. 77.119.115.84 (talk) 05:37, 24 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Paysandu, 1997

[edit]

Another fast goal should be added to this page. Paysandu, 1997. Oficially 2 seconds. Vital Filho is the player. We can see it on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SDz3IJW6QOw
