Please, Do not delete page!T_T. We are trying to expand this page!

[edit]

Hi, We are going to expand this page. we're team name is 3Y. (We are Wikipedia user - Young Seong Kim(talk),gotpdud(talk),Minzi Yuk (talk) 05:36, 14 April 2013 (UTC))[reply]

We have planed (short list of resources)

  • History of Korean Fashion (from Korean traditional clothes called "hanbok")
  • Typical designers in modern times.(Jaewhan Lee, Suctae Lee, Je Hee Sheen, Beom Suk Choi, and so on)
  • Typical Brands (MCM,Beanpole, Hazzys, Darks, Nicoboco and so on)
  • Typical Official Events (Seoul Fashion Week and so on)
  • Primary Shopping Place (Paju Premium Oulet, Gasan Digital Complex Station, Myung-dong and so on)

You may ask these things!

  1. What points you will cover in your article?
You can see overall fashion Information of South Korea.
  1. How it will be structured?
we will add section as you see above sections. Moreover, more sections will be added.
  1. Who will work on what sections?
gotpdud(talk) is responsible for History part.
Minzi Yuk (talk) is responsible for designers and Brands.
Young Seong Kim(talk) is responsible for Events and Shopping place.

ASAP We will expand Fashion in South Korea page.--Minzi Yuk (talk) 05:22, 14 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The overall plan looks reasonable, but you need to provide a list of references you will use. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 03:52, 19 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Oh! we missed list of references. I have searched many resources. All korean titles will be translated on references part.

--Minzi Yuk (talk) 12:16, 21 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

--Gotpdud (talk) 13:46, 21 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

--Young Seong Kim (talk) 14:48, 21 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • news about Korea primium oulet going increase.([1])

I think you need to add sections of external links and also images. Especially Fashion should be showed. Tksgk262 (talk) 10:58, 20 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

First of all, South Korea has four seasons as we know, so there is good section for Typical Fashion for weather.
Second of all, in my experience, if there are just few sentences without reference or information. the article will be deleted....
This is so sad. So I suggest to fulfill with gorgeous information! Have fun! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Byung do jung (talkcontribs) 14:31, 20 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I think that this article should be have a reliance reference. Also, many selections are empty. And I think that uploading image is also good for this article.HaeYoon (talk) 09:51, 21 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I am sehyun Oh. I think adding some pictures about Korean fashion is good for your article. Because the most important thing about fashion is visual image. If some images add, it will be a good article!Dhtpgus90 (talk) 12:52, 21 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I think that Fashion in South Korea add new section fashion trend per period. So People can know that trend changes along with the flow of time.Hyegyeong Yun 14:20, 21 April 2013 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hyegyeong Yun (talkcontribs)

I like to talk about fashion and telling foreigners about Korea's famous designers would be a great thing!!!! Also, I bet lots of foreigners know Lee Sang bong. So, they would help you all editing ;) Good Luck!!

feeling

[edit]

I looked at an article being developed by another group. another group'article varied from high quality to same quality.... still i unaccustomed to use wiki. so still hard develping "team article". but 0make a greater effort

i think " we need 1.many information about Fashion in South Korea 2. accurate reference about article 3. detailed plan of article composition "--Gotpdud (talk) 14:55, 21 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It was great experince that I could join in someone's article project. I hope other teams gonner be great, because all student suggest good things to do. In sharing infomation, It will be good example for encyclopedia. I think I have to hard-working for developing my article. It is good for trainning wikipedia and I had learned that Korean fashion too. I will assemble many kinds of article's information like news, book, TED, etc. Thanks for reading my talk.--Young Seong Kim (talk) 15:04, 21 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

summary I have learned from other group's article

[edit]

First of all, I was surprised at speed of works. How fast other group works. we need more concentration. Second,we need more reliable references. I noticed that how important references are. finally, we have limitation for designers. because of time lack, above all we focus on today's designers. later, we are going to consider whether we add ancient designers.--Minzi Yuk (talk) 15:13, 21 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This article is really good idea:)

[edit]

It is very useful article if there is explanation about each famous designer's collection.--Bohyunlee (talk) 15:29, 21 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

What your group is working on to the article seems to be the public interest. I would suggest explanation with images. Words are meangingless without images. It's a nicer way with images together! Sang Kuk Son 17:07, 21 April 2013 (UTC)

It is cool article :)

[edit]

In fact, i was want to edit Korean Fashion. So i have big expectation about your Wiki project. Be have neutral vision in article. Good luck:)

My suggestion.

[edit]

It is really good subject. I want to give you suggestion in addition to your work. Adding reason why were they wear that clothes is good for your article. For example, in Chosun era, classical scholar were clothes that have wide sleeves because in that time, it meant that etiquette, and sometimes meant their class. Like this, reasons that people were some kind of clothes will make people understand better. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Choi Hyun Hee (talkcontribs) 07:14, 22 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Good to see this article.

[edit]

It is interesting article. But I think information in this article is restricted and so short, so I couldn't get many knowledge. I leave much to be desired about it. And Main explanation seems subjective. — Preceding unsigned comment added by JinsuRyu (talkcontribs) 15:57, 22 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Instructor review

[edit]
  • Lead: short - needs expansion and minor grammar cleanup, but is on topic and wikified.
  • History of Korean Fashion section: on topic, but unreferenced
  • Typical designers in modern times: on topic, but references are poor, primarily references to designers own homepages/businesses. Wikipedia needs third-party, reliable references. There is also little content but the list of designers; few sentences describing each are needed.
  • Typical Brands: no content but a lead, no references. Needs expansion.
  • Typical Official Events: contains only an external link; this is unacceptable and it the current form has no place in the article; the link should be moved to external links, and the section should be expanded with content and proper references.
  • Primary Shopping Place: potentially related, needs revisions for grammar, more content and references.

Feel free to ask me any questions on my talk; --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 04:28, 24 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Looking at this now, I see the that many parts still need references. Also, please convert lists into prose (paragraphs). PS. You still need to finish your peer review request. The instruction is clearly noted in the orange box above: chose a field (arts?). --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 05:06, 17 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I am pleased to see this is shaping nicely, content wise. There are still many places that need inline references (footnotes). History section has next to none, and brands and events sections have none at all. Please try to add more references! --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 06:36, 30 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Intro Paragraph

[edit]

The intro paragraph to this article is a mess. It is badly formatted, and reads like a forced essay on the subject. It seems like it is made up of what should be in the article below. I don't know how to make this better, so if anyone else wants to do it go ahead. Yenoham35 (talk) 12:13, 19 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestion to remove the copyediting tag

[edit]

Hey there, in the last few days a lot of people went over this article, it needs more work in the form of basic information, but not in copy-editing. Let's remove the tag!Tomato 33 (talk) 14:22, 21 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know if we should do that yet. This article still needs to be worked on, even if there are only little things to clean up. It certainly has come a long way, but not that far. Yenoham35 (talk) 11:56, 23 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Just re-read the article and the section on designers needs some serious work grammatically. I can do punctuation, but that section needs serious work. And because nearly all of the sources are and will continue to be Korean, and the article will continue to be translated from there, I just made an incomprehensible run-on sentence. What I'm trying to say is that if the article is still being added to, there will still be copyediting necessary. Yenoham35 (talk) 12:06, 23 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
You guys may be right, who's able to check the reliability of the sources? My grasp of the Korean language is non-existent.Tomato 33 (talk) 11:29, 26 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

List! Too many lists!

[edit]

It might be a good idea to change a few lists into text. Tomato 33 (talk) 11:32, 26 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Original Research: Lead

[edit]

Dear Readers, I have deleted the following sentence because it contains original research without verification of the brands' agenda in using celebrities as their models.

The sentence is as follows: As of 2021, many Korean fashion brands have gained recognition overseas due to their collaborations with Korean pop idols and other celebrities. This is especially significant in many Korean streetwear brands who tend to appeal to a younger audience. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cosette Michaela Koon (talkcontribs) 05:36, 22 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Added New Reference on Kpop- and the fashion world

[edit]

Dear Wikipedians

I have added the reference to the following sentence because I've found a source which verifies the information

With the Korean Wave sweeping over many countries such as Japan and Indonesia [45] the Middle East, Europe, North America and Oceania, the influence of Korean-pop fashion is speculated to have inspired fashion both nationally and internationally. http://edition.cnn.com/2010/WORLD/asiapcf/12/31/korea.entertainment/index.html#:~:text=Over%20the%20past%20decade%2C%20South,stretching%20from%20Japan%20to%20Indonesia.&text=Koreans%20use%20the%20term%20%22hallyu%22%20to%20describe%20the%20phenomenon.

What is the name for the school uniform on the right?

[edit]
Old-fashioned school uniforms. The uniform on the left is a gakuran.

@Toobigtokale: I tweaked the caption for the school uniforms. I know what the uniform on the left is, but does anyone know what the one on the right is called? FunnyMath (talk) 00:35, 12 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Upfront will say I don't know much about the topic. My impression from quick research now and experience is that uniform for girls specifically may have been uncommon?
Searching in Korean, people just say "girls uniform" or "sailor fuku" or similar on pics of girls wearing uniforms that resemble that (i couldn't find any direct matches though, and hardly any uniforms for girls that included that kind of hat). That hat she's wearing seems to be more typical of gakuran, whereas the rest of her uniform seems to be more like a gakuran-ish sailor fuku. May or may not have been an explicit term for it, especially as uniforms differed by school and by decade.
If we had a date for the photo that'd help I think. I tried reverse image searching but couldn't find much on a quick try. toobigtokale (talk) 00:44, 12 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Interesting! Thank you for the quick research. Hopefully we'll learn more about that uniform someday. FunnyMath (talk) 01:09, 12 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
