Album Covers for the July 5th and Best of Versions
[edit]Can someone upload and add the covers for the July 5th and Best of Fare Thee Well versions of the album? I did it yesterday when I created this article but they were removed. I guess I do not know how to properly show their licenses. Wikipedia does not make doing this easy for any images unless you know exactly how to do it. They are definitely fair use images as all album covers are. — sk8punk3d288 (Talk) 19:50, 25 November 2015 (UTC)
- @Sk8punk3d288: I agree that uploading and using images on Wikipedia is not very straightforward. But I think you can do this yourself. Before, you uploaded those two album cover images to Wikimedia Commons. But that's just for images that have been licensed for anyone to use, or that are in the public domain. Album cover images fall under fair use, as you had noted, so that's different. What I recommend is that you upload the images to Wikipedia instead, by clicking the "Upload file" link under Tools on the left side of the page. Then click on "Plain form for local uploads". There you will need to manually put in an appropriate fair use rationale and licensing information (in the box that says, "Summary (author, source, URL, fair use rationale if applicable...") but you can just copy those from File:Fare-Thee-Well-Complete-box-set.jpg, by editing that page and copying the contents. Just don't forget to change the fields (such as name and website) that are different. — Mudwater (Talk) 01:20, 26 November 2015 (UTC)
- Alright, thanks, I think I got it. Hopefully these don't get deleted. — sk8punk3d288 (Talk) 17:42, 26 November 2015 (UTC)
