Composer credits - Ayers' version

[edit]

Leaving aside Hollander, about whom there can be no argument, who is the "Connelly" credited on the Ayers tracks? I can confirm that the [Ayers] album track is also credited to Hollander/Connelly, but the only other version I have looked at so far in my collection is credited to Hollander/Lerner (which prompted me to check), which the article otherwise suggests is correct, as does the sheet music, here: http://www.musicnotes.com/sheetmusic/mtdVPE.asp?ppn=MN0040962

The only thing that comes to mind is that Ayers' version is in 4/4, as against 3/4 for the original, and Connelly might have had something to do with that, but the words remain Lerner's in any case.

If I had noticed that I would have checked before! However, Reginald Connelly appears to be correct for some versions of the song. Ascap entry, see here. I'll do a little more research. --Richhoncho (talk) 13:23, 16 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Silly question

[edit]

Only recording from the album with Paul McCartney singing lead vocals?--88.194.250.212 (talk) 04:39, 21 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have to agree. When I read that I thought "Whaaaaa?" Not sure what source is used to site this, but regardless, it is factually incorrect. ShelbyMarion (talk) 17:36, 14 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It's not cited. What is the truth?--Launchballer 20:18, 14 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The truth is McCartney handles the lead vocals on a dozen of the tracks on that album. For verification, see Live at the Star Club wikipage. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ShelbyMarion (talkcontribs) 20:02, 3 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
