For the moderators:[edit]

1)Please don't remove the text without references. I will try to find them as soon as possible. It is not easy to do everything in one day when you start a new entry in Wikipedia. 2)I hope this page and descriptions of other forest-growth models will grow fast, once there will be at least one entry about one of the models. 3)Another thing, please live the name of the entry to include "forest-growth", because this is the term that is used more frequently in the literature to describe such model. I know that it is less informative, but this is a historical trend and when people will search entry in Wikipedia they will use this phrase. 4) Please help me to make the entry to be part of the Wikipedia list. For example, for FORECAST entry. FORECAST forest-growth model , FORECAST some other meaning , FORECAST another meaning , etc. I can't figure out how to do it. Inside the text I added internal links to other entries in Wikipedia. That will help the reader to understand difficult words. M gerzon (talk) 10:15, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I must say that I am very happy to now know that there is at least one other person on wikipedia who is working on the forest mensuration/modelling article(s). Welcome! Although I'm not a "moderator", I've edited pretty extensively and will thus address your queries.
1) You've already went above and beyond as far as referencing brand-new articles goes. There's always room for improvement, but so far, you're doing very well. One thing I've done (which you've probably already noticed) is improve the reference citation structure using those on Wikipedia:Citation templates. It's mostly for aesthetics, but I like having it done. The article as is right now is quite technical- maybe you'd like to read Wikipedia:Make technical articles understandable for help?
2) In addition to this one, there are already two more at Category:Forest models. If (or when) you make more, make sure you add them to the category. I've been meaning to create a page for [lms.cfr.washington.edu/ LMS] for a year or so, but have never gotten around to it. This may be the motivation I needed.
3) I changed the name of the article to align with standard naming conventions, and that given on UBC's website for the model. As of now, there aren't any models on Wikipedia named "Forecast", so having the über-descriptive "forest-growth" in the title is redundant and unnecessary. The move created a redirect simultaneously one will come to this page if they're searching for under the old title.
4) You seemed to have figured out the disambiguation hatnote on forecasting.
If you ever need any help or questions answered, feel free to contact me via my talk page, or anyone else participating in WP:FOREST. Cheers, Minnecologiest,c 18:54, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
