- ... that in 1999, British designer Alexander McQueen staged an Eye (clothing pictured) in the middle of a New York hurricane? Source: Pretty much all the sources mention it, but some examples are The Herald and LA Times (both need TWL).

Post-promotion hook changes for this nom will be logged at Template talk:Did you know nominations/Eye (Alexander McQueen collection); consider watching this nomination, if it is successful, until the hook appears on the Main Page.
- Article is long enough and was moved to mainspace on August 9th. It is sufficiently cited inline, neutral, and otherwise sufficiently policy compliant. The hook is cited in the article and I'd consider it sufficiently interesting to a general audience. QPQ was completed on August 9th. I have verified the photo is freely licensed and is understandable at the size it would appear at for DYK. Nomination is good to go. Trainsandotherthings (talk) 21:59, 13 August 2023 (UTC)
- @Trainsandotherthings and Premeditated Chaos: Interesting hook and article. I was going to quibble about whether the show was in the "middle" of a hurricane, but maybe we do not need to be that pedantic. Regarding the FOP images, I am just not sure under which heading we would place the images of dresses. I consider the fashion a form of art. which is not allowed. Out of caution I will skip promoting the image. Bruxton (talk) 15:03, 14 August 2023 (UTC)
Artist’s stated intent and if so, citation available?
[edit]The passage which reads, “It was inspired by the culture of the Middle East, particularly Islamic clothing, as well as the oppression of women in Islamic culture and their resistance to it,” alludes to several topics of unaddressed complexity. Unclear if authority here derives from the artist, in which case it should be cited, or if it comes from the author of the article, in which case it should likely be redacted. 95.23.96.15 (talk) 03:44, 24 March 2024 (UTC)
- That passage is from the lead. Leads summarize the body of the article and don't require citations (see WP:LEADCITE). The content is elaborated on in the body, where it is cited very thoroughly. ♠PMC♠ (talk) 03:46, 24 March 2024 (UTC)
