Response to speedy deletion nomination
[edit]The phrase "era of extreme energy" has some use in mainstream media. However, it is possible that the content of the article could be merged into Unconventional resources along with unconventional oil. The NYT's article is an excellent journalistic exploration of the problem. It uses "Unconventional resources" to discuss the underlying issue. User:Fred Bauder Talk 23:16, 15 November 2011 (UTC)
- im not opposed to merging it with unconventional resources, i definitely think it does not deserve its own article as it is merely an adjective in front of a common concept. I doubt it has seen too much mainstream use, at least not in the form detailed here, plus im not convinced it really meets the standard of notability, seeing as it seems to be used and promoted by only one guy. Notability? Slang term for a dictionary?
[edit]I've never heard this term. Is it active in some particular country or language? Wikipedia requires notability, which means that there are lots of newspaper articles or similar reliable sources that recognize the significance of the topic. I would delete this article, if it were up to me, for this reason. Also, Wikipedia is not a dictionary. David Spector (user/talk) 21:32, 1 March 2012 (UTC)
