Table of Opiates at bottom

[edit]

Why is that table there? I dont see it on any other page, like MSIR, morphine, or Fentanyl. I suggest moving it to its own page, instead of hanging out here were it is drive by traffic at most. It has a lot of info and should be used somewhere, I just think it isnt right where it currently is. What do y'all think? Xnuiem (talk) 19:24, 11 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The comment about powder filled vs extruded

[edit]

This comment seems odd an uninformed, the powder filled ones do still maintain controlled release, the plastic sphere that the powder is in have micropores, which open at varying PH, so some open in the stomach, some in the intestines, to keep a release gradient mostly constant. The spheres themselves, in most patients, pass throughout he body undigested. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.245.39.61 (talk) 13:33, 24 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Structure

[edit]

Page is very confused. Would better suit a table showing different formulations of m/r morphine preps eg:

Brand Name Form Manufacturer Geographical Market
MS Contin 12 hour m/r tablets Purdue US, Australia
MST Continus 12 hour m/r tablets NAPP Pharmaceuticals UK
MXL 24 m/r capsules NAPP Pharmaceuticals UK
Morphgesic 12 hour m/r tablets Amdipharm UK
ZoMorph 12 hour m/r capsules Ethypharm UK

Also, lots of superfluous info not relating to the core of the page title, eg controlled drug status and miscellany about legal status.
