Merge with Expletive?

[edit]

This article is too (expletive deleted) short to be an article in itself. If, for example, we add (expletive deleted) examples to the article, we may be able to (expletive deleted) keep it. Otherwise, this is a (expletive deleted) stub. It should be merged with Expletive. --Jon Terry 17:00, 7 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't see the merge template... :) --Vlad|-> 12:06, 15 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

An Expletive deleted history lesson

[edit]

In February 2007 'Expletive Deleted' was proposed for merger; on 6 March of that year its content was merged to Expletive and it be came a redirect. On 18 March 2007 another editor re-created the page, apparently by paraphrasing the (recently merged) content from 'Expletive'. Later the same day, another editor rolled the page back to the redirect. There it sat for some four years.

In September 2011 I proposed that 'Expletive' be split, as it treated three different topics that are each sometimes called "expletive". On 4 November 2011 I split the page to create Syntactic expletive and Expletive attributive; I turned 'Expletive' into a disambiguation page pointing to those pages and to Profanity. Since 'Expletive deleted' was now a redirect to a DAB, I re-targeted it to Minced oath.

On 14 November 2011 another user rolled the page back to the 18 March 2007 version, noting "I cannot find the text of this article in Minced oath which it redirected to." This resulted in broken or inappropriate links; I fixed the ones I found, but others may remain. Cnilep (talk) 06:41, 16 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
