One of the criterial for notability as defined by Wikipedia is "Has been the subject of a half hour or longer broadcast across a national radio or TV network."

Exmoor Singers' Tallis Festival was the main feature on BBC Radio 3's The Choir on 28 October, with coverage lasting 50 minutes - it was referred to as an "autumn institution" by the presenter. In addition Exmoor Singers performed with Bloc Party in the BBC Electric Proms on 27 October, which was broadcast on BBC2 Television (for 40 minutes)on 27 October 2007 and on BBC Radio 1 (for ~ 1 hour and 20 minutes) on 29 October 2007.

In addition, the choir is making significant contributions to the promotion of music by living composers, and commissioning two new 40 part works is a major contribution to the choral world in anybody's book.

That you have deleted most of this from the article does not help the case for the article's retention.

We have edited this article to reflect the notability issue ie broadcasts on BBC1, BBC2, Radio1 and Radio 3. We feel that the reference to the new commissions needs to be retained not least as in two other articles James Lavino and Lindisfarne, someone other than ourselves made reference to our commissioned works (we have now made a link to the Exmoor Singers page accordingly).

There is also reference from the Bloc Party page which someone else made, and we have linked from there to Exmoor Singers.

We have attempted to focus purely on the factual and to make substantiated references to activities.

We emphasise that this is not intended to be a promotion of the choir as such, since Wikipedia is hardly likely to be a recruitment source. We do however feel that Exmoor Singers needs to be referenced in terms of our position in the UK choral world and in the context of new music.

I have been discussing this with User:Chase me ladies, I'm the Cavalry who has said it is ok. I am going to be very careful about potential conflict of interest, and as a novice am still looking at how I can make the article meet the Wikipedia standards. I am changing my user name too!

Thanks.

This article will be expanded once a new user name is provided. Any expansion will be very carefully undertaken within the context of potential conflict of interest.
