[edit]I'm not sure I understand that last paragraph. "open source society"?
- I'll check really quick in my copy to see if it's accurate. I think it was meant to say "open-source market" again but I'm not sure. --66.249.57.127 23:16, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
critisism
[edit]I would like to see a critisism section. Surely it has created at least a little bit of controversy? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.86.74.123 (talk) 10:14, 29 December 2009 (UTC)
Tags
[edit]Yea sorry. I just hammered this article with tags. I figured I would give an explanation for it.
I personally don't think this page should be removed, but it definitely could use some improvements. The article is written in a way that summarizes the book. That is ok, but it doesn't state why the book is notable, or how it relates to the outside world. Is it a NY times bestseller? Is the author a world renowned scientist? How has the book affected outside culture. What do critics think about the book? Thanks again for your hardwork. Oldag07 (talk) 22:30, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
Subheadings
[edit]I wanted to clarify why I added the subheadings; I didn't see much detail on this page and thought it needed more. I split the headings up into the four topics he discusses most in the book: video games, television and film, and the Internet. I used a lot of quotes from the book, and included the book in the References (I was surprised it wasn't already in the References section). Russiaamerica (talk) 03:49, 21 February 2016 (UTC)

I rated this as Start Class because while it gives a pretty good and certainly detailed overview of the book, it has relatively little information on critical and popular response (other than one tiny bit about a relatively minor criticism that was later addressed in the afterward of the paperback addition - which is good, but surely not a complete representation of any and all response to the book), and is in minor need of rewrites for clarity or grammar's sake here and there; it also needs both a cover image and an infobox. I wavered and almost listed it as B class, but I think Start is a safer rating, given the gaps, and more likely to garner improvements for the article anyway. Runa27 19:44, 12 November 2007 (UTC) |
